Regular boiler servicing by a qualified gas engineer is the best way to keep your boiler running efficiently, reliably and safely. Annual boiler servicing is also a requirement to make sure any warranty you might have is preserved and more importantly, it gives you peace of mind that you’re far less likely to be left with cold taps and cold radiators right when you need them most.
What Happens During a Boiler Service?
Your boiler is a impressive piece of engineering and if it’s properly looked after, will safely and quietly keep your home warm and toasty for years, if not decades. An annual boiler service is usually all it takes to make sure it’s working at its best and will continue to do so trouble free.
A typical boiler service will include most, if not all of the following steps:
- Exterior Inspection – We’ll look over the outside of the boiler and it’s immediate surroundings for signs of corrosion, leaks, damage or blockages
- Interior Checks – We’ll take off the case and get to work inspecting the boiler components and seals, in particular paying attention to the burner, filter and heat exchangers and making sure they’re free of contamination like rust, soot or other particulates. These will be cleaned and any seals which aren’t up to standard can be replaced.
- Safety Checks – Once your boiler service has been completed, we’ll perform a number of tests for pressure, gas flow, the presence of carbon monoxide, ventilation and making sure the flue is free from obstruction, as well as making sure the controls are all functioning as thy should.
- Handover & Advice – Boiler servicing is what we do, but peace of mind is what we provide. No job is finished until we let you know what we’ve done, what we’ve found and how you can keep your boiler in tip top shape going forward.
